My vision on leadership development

An impactful leadership development journey takes a deep introspective path

Impactful leadership is intentional, and stems from the heart.

In order to develop leaders to 'heart-led executives', who lead with purpose and values that bring love into business, each program approach should revolve around the belief that leadership development extends beyond mere skills and techniques. In fact, in a truly impactful leadership development program, the respective leaders will embark on a deep transformative journey of self-discovery, self-awareness, and profound personal growth.

 

Leadership development is guiding leaders to their next potential, which is not a place to look for outwardly, but inwardly. It is helping them tapping into their innate talents and inner source of love, the keys for becoming a true leader. 


While both individual leaders and (top) team development journeys have the same goal, i.e. enhancing leadership effectiveness, they differ in their approach: Individual leadership development is about personal growth and skill enhancement, for example, around optimizing your personal operating model, resilience and stepping into a creative leadership mindset, and raising consciousness. While Top team development centers on aspects like team dynamics, alignment, collaboration, trust, creating a thriving environment, and organizing oneself as a collective.

 

Although the focus, approach and emphasis of both journeys will differ, in the end personal leadership mastery and team effectiveness will be practiced for the benefit of the wellbeing of others: the entire system the leader or team is operating in.

 

Guiding individual leaders on an introspective journey, ideally within the context of their team, is an investment that naturally radiates positive impact outwardly. It shapes the realm of action, substance, and relationships, and fosters a purposeful leadership that echoes far beyond the boardroom.

Doing deep inner work, raising consciousness, and stepping into your higher potential are essential aspects within a leadership development journey. They impact the transformational dynamics in the world of energy and spirituality. 


For simplicity, I would like to describe ‘energy’ and ‘spirituality’ as the world we observe and experience beyond our five physical senses; as a field that emerges around us when we interact with others, situations and even within our own self. Most people could just sense it in the change of atmosphere that they experience, which reflects in bodily emotions, or a felt change in the room.

 

Embarking on a leadership development journey helps you to look at what shows up as a reflection, helps you to look into your personal mirror.

 

A well-designed journey helps you to understand your part in creating that mirror-reflection, to obtain insights on how and why you interpret that reflection in a certain way, and to learn how you could transform that 'mirror-reality' by changing the way you are showing up as a leader.

Your mirror shows the whole realm of yourself, your team, and the system that you are operating in.

 

The optimal transformational leadership shift is the movement from being aware of the why, what, and how of the reflection in the mirror to becoming that mirror, also to others. This, by stepping into your own uniqueness, purpose, and authenticity and role modeling the desired change.

  • In fostering a learning environment together that cultivates trust, support, fair exchange and a genuine intention of creating positive impact, that will transcend to all stakeholders involved
     

A leadership journey will enable leaders to overcome challenges with resilience and grace, and help them to think in solutions and transformative possibilities.

 

It will empower them to evolve from traditional leadership within their current (success) model to a next level of leadership where they, as well as their stakeholders, could thrive together.
